Programs For Families

In addition to three fun, interactive spaces that bring out the kid in every visitor, Gilcrease Museum offers various educational opportunities for families with all ages! Trailblazer Bags

Trailblazer Bags are fun, multimedia educational bags, which are available free at the museum's front entrance.  They are the perfect way for visitors of all ages to become acquainted with the museum's collections and are designed with children in mind. Check one out at the beginning of your museum visit, and simply return prior to exiting.

Get Your SmART Cards

How "art" SmART are you? Find out by collecting our SmART Cards. Free and available on the card stand at the entrance of the museum, these cards ask questions, lead you to the piece in the galleries and give you fun facts you might not know. Collect them all!

Kids Dig Books

Kids Dig Books is presented in collaboration with Tulsa City-County Library children's department for 3-6 year olds and a caregiver. Reservations required. For more information, please email sarah-wright@utulsa.edu.

Mini Masters

Children, ages 3-6 years old and a caregiver are invited to create their own little masterpieces after gallery walks and talks. Reservations required. For more information, please email sarah-wright@utulsa.edu.

Funday Sundays

It's an afternoon of museum fun with open art stations. Families will visit three different art making stations in and around the museum and create to their hearts' content. Each station will offer different materials and themes as well as teaching artists to help guide and inspire. Visitors are welcome to come and go from the open art stations as they experience the different galleries and interactive spaces in the museum and gardens. Kid Flix

Gilcrease Museum is pleased to present family-friendly films for our visitors. Kid Flix films are free to the public and no registration is required. Seating is first-come, first-seated. Groups are welcome. Please see our Events Calendar for dates and times.

Museum Babies I

Museum Babies I is especially designed to nurture the needs of both parent and infant. For the first half hour, adults will enjoy a casual experience in the galleries, learning about the art of Gilcrease Museum. The second half hour will be "baby time" with activities to stimulate the five senses. Come enjoy museum time with your infant! Reservations required. Museum Babies II

Museum Babies II is especially designed for the enjoyment of both parent and toddler. For the first half hour, adults will enjoy a casual experience in the galleries, learning about the art of Gilcrease Museum. The second half hour will be "toddler time." Sensory activities will encourage the toddlers to progress to the next level of controlled creative self-expression. Come enjoy museum time with your toddler! Reservations required.
