Self-Guided Tour Policies

  • Self-guided tours of the museum may be scheduled during regular museum hours and are based on gallery availability.
  • Teachers or group leaders should notify the Gilcrease Museum Coordinator of Volunteer Services at gilcrease-tours@utulsa.edu, with as much advance notice as possible when they plan to self-tour the museum.
  • Self-guided groups should refrain from entering galleries in which docent-led tours are taking place. The museum's chaperone policy is as follows: school groups are expected to have at least one responsible adult chaperone for every ten students. Please review the Chaperone Expectations with all adult chaperones accompanying students on their trip to the museum prior to the visit.
  • All groups should enter the museum through the main entrance. Bus parking is available in the NORTH lot in the designated bus parking area.
  • Note-taking and sketching in the museum is encouraged and allowed in PENCIL ONLY.
  • Please remember the following for your self-tour: no photography with cameras, video cameras or cell phones is allowed in the museum at any time. Leave all backpacks, large purses and sack lunches on the bus, turn off cell phones and refrain from touching any objects. Also, speak softly at all times and walk (don’t run) through the galleries.

If you have further questions regarding these policies or scheduling a self-tour, please contact gilcrease-tours@utulsa.edu.
