Transportation Funding
Guidelines for Obtaining Transportation Funding
In order to qualify for bus reimbursement funding your school must be either a public institution or a Title I school. Only schools who schedule a visit to the museum in advance are eligible to receive funding. Funding is available on a first-come, first served basis.
Prior To Your Visit
When you are booking your visit, make an initial request for bus funding. Follow that initial request with a written request on school letterhead. This written request should be made prior to your visit and should include the following:
- date of scheduled visit
- number of students visiting the museum
- an estimate of the total amount of funds you are requesting
- a breakdown of these funds (i.e., bus driver fee, gas, mileage, etc.)
Your transportation department should be able to provide you with this estimate. You may either fax or email this letter.
During Your Visit
Bus reimbursement is contingent upon acceptable group behavior while visiting the Gilcrease Museum and grounds. If a group's behavior is questionable, museum security and staff will decide if bus reimbursement funds will be dispersed.
Following Your Visit
Fill out a Museum Visit Evaluation and submit it to the Director of Education and Public Programs (these may be faxed or emailed).
Have your transportation department invoice the museum and we will pay your transportation fees. (Important: An invoice following your visit is required, otherwise funds will not be dispersed.)
