Photography Takes Spotlight in "Faces of the Frontier: Photographic Portraits from the American West, 1845-1924"
10/5/2010 - The touring exhibition, Faces of the Frontier: Photographic Portraits from the American West, 1845-1924, opens Sunday, Oct. 10 at Gilcrease Museum. Presented by the Smithsonian's National Portrait Gallery, the show explores how the American West was dramatically reconstituted during the 80 years between the Mexican War and the passage of the Indian Citizenship Act in 1924. More than 100 photographic portraits in the exhibition tell the story of those who contributed to the transformation of this region.

Gilcrease Museum Presents Sweeping Look at the Founding of America
6/26/2010 - America: Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of a Nation opens June 26 at Gilcrease Museum. The exhibition will offer a sweeping look at American history from colonial days to the closing of the Western frontier. The epic show includes 400 items that explores three centuries of American history through period art, artifacts and archival materials – drawn entirely from the diverse collections of Gilcrease Museum.

America's Western Storyteller
2/5/2010 - The Masterworks of Charles M. Russell: A Retrospective of Paintings & Sculpture opens Feb. 6 and runs through May 2, 2010 at Gilcrease Museum. The exhibition is the first major retrospective of the artist's work and will showcase more than 100 of the artist's finest paintings and bronze sculptures, as well as a number of the artist's personal effects rarely seen by the general public.
